Rationale
I believe that my idea and process was really well thought out and I had the ideas there, but my time management skills really let me down for the final dossier. My presentation did go okay, but I was so nervous as I didn't think I did as good as the other students. However, I do think I did well with producing the work in the amount of time I had left, as I struggled to decide when to stop changing my visual ideas, although they were not as good as I wanted, I got there in the end. The box was my strongest point as I really enjoyed making it, however this was one of the reasons why I ran out of time to produced better work for the other touch points. I chose to work by myself, which I enjoyed it at first, but then realized that I had put myself under too much pressure and couldn't quite produce the visuals as good as I intended.
Next year I will be doing the major project, and I feel that I could continue on with this idea and do better with it, as my idea is a strong one and I feel it can benefit many parents and children out there, I just need to show it better.
Week 10- The digital stuff
Starting to build up the content and style of the app in a more aesthetically pleasing way
Using this pattern as a background. It matches the logo. I drew the pictures by hand and then scanned them in to make a collage
Starting to visualize the mobile classroom
This is the start of the website, however I feel it is not really needed, as the app does all of whats on here anyway
Week 9 -More Prototypes and Ideas
I used bits of paper to scribble out the ideas of how and what exactly I wanted to do for the app. It made it easier than just trying to visualize it. Also the app that I made and showed in class didn't really able me to show what I wanted, and it made it tricky explaining what each part was meant to do.
Box Prototypes:
Paper prototype helped alot to check that it would actually work.
I made another one using a thicker card and proper measurements.
The size is made to fit inside an ipad box. This plays along with the "stop using so much technology" idea, as there's no ipad in the box, but activities to physically do instead.
Using beads and colours to make it interesting and give the idea of play. Each bead is numbered out of order, making the parent and child want to open each one
